Support Groups
CAPS' support groups provide a safe, welcoming and caring space for students to connect with others around a shared experience. Students can talk about their concerns, learn new ways of coping and build a community of support.
Support groups are facilitated by 1-2 CAPS clinicians. No registration is needed, and there is no cost to attend.
In Fall 2026, CAPS is pleased to offer Living with Loss, a grief support group.

Have you experienced the death of someone important to you? Grief can feel isolating, especially in college. Living with Loss is a support group that offers a caring space to connect with other students who understand what it’s like to lose someone. The group can provide a sense of community, help you feel less isolated and encourage growth through compassion and support. It is always your choice what you share. Whether your loss happened recently or years ago, you are welcome.
Living with Loss is intended to provide support but is not the same thing as therapy. You don’t need to sign up to come to meetings – simply show up. There is no cost.
Group meetings are held at CAPS. When you arrive for a meeting, let the front desk staff know you’re there for the group, and the group leaders will show you to the room.
For additional resources on grief and loss, see CAPS’ Self-Help Tools page.
