Groups
You don't have to figure things out alone.
College can be challenging at times, and many students find it helpful to connect with others who understand what they're going through. CAPS groups bring students together in a safe, supportive, and confidential space to learn, grow, and support one another. Whether you're looking to better understand yourself, improve your relationships, or connect with others around a shared experience, a CAPS group may be a good fit.
In Fall 2026, CAPS will be offering a therapy group (Understanding Self and Others) and a support group (Living with Loss).
What’s the difference between a therapy group and a support group? Here’s a quick guide.
| Therapy Groups | Support Groups |
|---|---|
| Focus on insight, relationships and mental health | Focus on connections, encouragement and coping |
| Help each other better understand themselves and make meaningful changes | Support each other to navigate a shared experience |
| Interact with each other to gain insights that can be used in everyday life | Connect with each other on a shared experience to feel supported and less alone |
| To join, call CAPS to set up a Consultation appointment | Open to all students. Simply show up for meetings |
