The housing application opens Jan. 14, 2026, and we encourage students to apply as soon as possible to maximize their options.  

Students will receive a room selection date and time based on when they submit their housing application. Select your application date below to view your room selection details. Students apply for housing through the

• Apply early for the best options. Students who apply after April 1 are less likely to find completely empty rooms, which will make roommate pairings challenging.
• Room selection times are randomized. Students will be assigned a random, computer-generated timeslot indicating when they can begin selecting a room. Timeslot details will be sent to students' Kent State email accounts.

Certain students participating in specialized programs (e.g., those working with an academic advisor, coach, or counselor) will have room assignments coordinated between their program and University Housing. These assignments will be made on a rolling basis through fall opening. Students with questions about their room assignment can contact their specific program for assistance.
