Leaders at every level of the organization are tasked with 'getting things done through others'. In today's ever changing business world, employers recognize that there is more to managing the performance of direct reports than setting goals and conducting the performance evaluation. This course is a foundation to the performance management philosophy, responsibilities, and skills for successfully managing performance at Kent State. This is part 1 of 2.

Strong communication skills are essential for building positive relationships and achieving success in the workplace. This course is designed to help supervisory personnel identify and strengthen critical elements of their communication skills. Using group discussion, self-reflection, and scenario-based role play or analysis, participants will have an opportunity to evaluate the effectiveness of their communication skills as they perform key supervisory and management functions.

Students in the Kent State School of Fashion’s fashion visuals class, led by Professor Archana Mehta, recently visited the Kent State University Museum to engage directly with "LeRoy Neiman: A Keen Observer of Style," an exhibition highlighting the artist’s early work as a fashion illustrator. The course introduces students to elements and principles of design and color theory to create effective composition in 2D and 3D form. HLC Annual Reports

In alignment with Kent State University's regional accreditation (Higher Learning Commission, HLC), all academic programs must submit a programmatic assessment report every year. Annual assessment reports are reviewed and maintained by Kent State’s Office of Accreditation, Assessment and Learning.
