Jenniffer Omaitz is an MFA alumna (鈥09 Painting) who has been getting a lot of local and national attention lately.  In her artist statement she says 鈥滿y paintings explore ideas of Fold, Gesture and Movement. These are approached in two ongoing series; Solid Movement and Folding Gesture. Solid Movement is an investigation into gesture and its ability to encapsulate time and psyche, fuse internal and external, and record conceptual state changes in solidified form. JMC Alumnus Tyler Pina, '14, is drawing attention to reintegration after incarceration through film

Kent State alumnus Tyler Pina, 鈥14, recently teamed up with fellow alumni to create a film focusing on the stories of inmates鈥 lives, post-incarceration. Pina graduated from the digital media production major three years ago, and works in San Francisco as a video director of The Verge, a Vox Media company, and is founder and CEO of Neon Flamingo Films. This film, 鈥88 Cents,鈥 which has been submitted to the Sundance Film Festival, aims to draw awareness to the difficulty of reintegrating into society after leaving the prison system and the lack of resources provided for these people.
