Crawford Hall Grand Opening

Join us to celebrate the grand opening of Crawford Hall. Crawford Hall, the newest building on the Kent Campus, is named in honor of U.S. Ambassador Edward F. Crawford, for whom the college is also named the Ambassador Crawford College of Business and Entrepreneurship. It is a four-story, approximately 150,000 square-foot structure that includes specialty laboratory spaces and centers to provide state-of the art education and enable cutting-edge business research consistent with the needs of a large business school at an R1 institution.

Growing up, students Rebecca Haywood and Riley Schaefer saw little to no representation of neurodivergent characters in children鈥檚 media.When the two took the augmented reality in children鈥檚 literature course offered through their program and Design Innovation last year, they wanted to change that for others. What is the Difference Between Engineering and Engineering Technology?

The difference between engineering and engineering technology is blurred and the two often overlap. In a nutshell:

  • Engineering is more theoretical typically requiring higher-level mathematics with multiple semesters of calculus and calculus-based science courses.
  • Engineering technology is more hands-on and application oriented typically focusing on algebra, trigonometry, applied calculus. Technical courses are more practical in nature. If you are a practical hands-on oriented individual, engineering technology could be right for you!
