In late Sept., several Kent State University Glauser School Music Education faculty members presented their latest work during research poster sessions at the biennial Symposium of the Society for Music Teacher Education (SMTE). The 2021 symposium was held virtually.

Live concerts return to the Kent State University Glauser School鈥檚 2021-2022 concert season. New this season: All concerts and recitals will be ticketed. Corresponding adjustments have been made to pricing, and new subscription packages have been created to keep concerts affordable and accessible.

Read Between the Lines: Kent State Musicology Professor Looks Deeper Into the Life of Beethoven

In 1996, Theodore Albrecht, professor of musicology, was diligently working on his original project of annotating, translating and studying approximately 430 letters written to Ludwig van Beethoven by his friends and family. Then a new opportunity presented itself. Albrecht found that his two projects worked together to add further understanding and context, giving him the opportunity to add depth and discover new details of Beethoven鈥檚 life.

Kent State University Announces Launch of New Marching Band Scholarship

The College of the Arts and the Hugh A. Glauser School of Music are pleased to announce the launch of the 鈥淢arching Golden Flash Award.鈥 This new scholarship opportunity will be available to all returning members of the Marching Golden Flashes as well as incoming Kent State students. It is open to students of any major starting in the fall 2020 season.

Kent Creativity Festival Announces 2019 Artists and Performers

The Kent Creativity Festival, sponsored by the city of Kent and the Kent State University College of the Arts, will present the annual outdoor hands-on arts festival on Saturday, Sept. 28, from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. on the Lefton Esplanade between Kent State鈥檚 Rockwell Hall on Lincoln Street and downtown Kent, near Haymaker Parkway.
