The College of Aeronautics and Engineering (CAE) at Kent State University marked a significant milestone in drone technology on Wednesday, October 25th. Jake Rabinowitz, a senior unmanned aircraft systems flight operations (UAS) student, demonstrated the first fully autonomous flight of the Alta-X cargo drone, executing a hands-off operation from launch to landing.

“Rising Scholars is a great program for our local youth,” said Paul Dykshoorn, academic program director for Rising Scholars at Kent State Tuscarawas. “We mentor each student throughout their middle school and high school years. New Wave ’80s band Devo isn’t just from Ohio. Devo wasn’t just created in Akron. Devo was forged at Kent State University under the pressure of the turmoil of the late ’60s and the events surrounding May 4, 1970. Authors David Giffels and Jade Dellinger brought their book “The Beginning Was the End: Devo in Ohio” to Kent State for a book signing and discussion.

Kent State Recognizes Alumni During Homecoming Weekend

Kent State University recognizes alumni who, through leadership, character and hard work, are making a difference. During Homecoming Weekend, 10 Golden Flashes were presented with Alumni Awards, and nine alumni received Lifetime Achievement recognitions from the university’s Black Alumni Chapter.
