The Mission of the Rad Tech Program

The mission of Kent State University at Salem is to educate radiologic technology students in the knowledge, skills and attitudes to become qualified, professional practitioners who provide quality service and care to the community and to prepare students for the changing needs of the profession.  Kent State University transforms lives and communities through the power of discovery, learning and creative expression in an inclusive environment.

Stella Ogari's journey has taken her from East Africa to Northeast Ohio and now culminates with her earning her associate degree in nursing from Kent State University at Ashtabula.Ogari, a licensed practical nurse (LPN), chose the Ashtabula Campus for its acclaimed nursing program to advance her career. Following graduation the recent Alpha Delta Nu honor society inductee plans to work in the cardiovascular intensive care unit and be what she calls a "beacon of hope" for patients.Her story was recently profiled during the National Nurses Week in the Star Beacon.READ HER STORY...

The Doris Kimble Family

Kent State University at Tuscarawas recently honored the Doris Kimble family as the Toast to Education Award recipient for their tireless dedication to and support of education and our community.The Kimble family has been an impactful force in the Tuscarawas Valley in business and charitable giving over the years and has helped make the region a better place to live, work and study.Doris Kimble, who sadly passed away last year, founded the Kimble Company in 1948, with her late husband Floyd. Faculty Profile: Marcia Zeng - Ph.D. Information Science

Dr. Marcia Zeng's primary research interests include knowledge organization systems, linked data, metadata, smart data and big data, semantic technologies and digital humanities. Her scholarly publications consist of more than 100 research papers and five books, as well as over 200 national and international conference presentations, invited lectures and keynote speeches.

The Flashes Go Further Scholarship Program offers funding to help thousands of Kent State students complete their degrees.

For Kent State University alumna Yalanda (Cunningham) Johnson, it was an honor and a blessing to receive the Flashes Go Further Scholarship.As a first-generation, non-traditional student, Johnson used the funds to help complete her bachelor’s degree in psychology in 2022. In all, it took her a total of 10 years to complete her degree.“If you can get that little bit of help it encourages people to move forward,” Johnson said. “It encourages people to get into college or go back to college.” Cunningham is one of more than 11,000 Kent State students awarded nearly $50 million in Flashes...
